Twitter's CEO, Elon Musk, and the head of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, had previously entertained the idea of a physical face-off within a ring. However, Zuckerberg has recently communicated that Elon Musk has been consistently providing excuses to avoid the widely-publicized mixed martial arts match.
Zuckerberg made a statement on his newly launched application, a rival to Twitter, expressing his decision to withdraw his interest in the potential fight against Musk. The ongoing feud between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk has now shifted in a new direction, with the CEO of Facebook announcing his disinterest in engaging in a cage match against the CEO of Tesla.
In a challenge issued last month, Zuckerberg had proposed a mixed martial arts showdown to Musk, who has reportedly been evading the challenge by presenting various excuses. Zuckerberg stated that he had proposed a specific date for the fight, but Musk insisted on undergoing minor shoulder blade surgery before confirming a commitment.
According to reports from Complex, Zuckerberg took to his Threads account to address Elon Musk's behavior and express his stance. He conveyed, "It seems evident that Elon is not genuinely committed, and I believe it's time to move forward. I extended a concrete date, and Dana White even offered to organize a legitimate charitable competition. Elon's failure to confirm a date, coupled with his surgery claim and subsequent request for a practice round in my backyard, suggests a lack of earnestness."
The head of Meta further stated, "Should Elon genuinely consider a legitimate date and formal event, he is aware of how to reach me. Otherwise, it's prudent to shift our focus. I intend to direct my efforts towards engaging with individuals who approach this sport with a sincere and dedicated attitude."
